Programs during COVID-19

ACA 2020 & 2021 will be summers we will never forget! Our on-campus programs for high school and middle school students were a great success! ACA worked closely with various local, state and national agencies to formulate a plan to provide students a bit of normalcy at a very unusual time. We would like to thank parents for their incredible support and confidence in our organization, and we want to thank our students for helping to keep all of us safe by following all of the COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols. We are delighted to share that all students and staff returned home healthy and safe. As we move forward for summer 2022, we will continue to offer information and guidance to our ACA families as the wellbeing, safety, and health of our students and staff is always our number one priority. The cornerstone of our organization for almost 30 years has been safety, and it is our number one priority and concern.

Trip Insurance

Many savvy travelers appreciate the option to purchase travel insurance. Should unforeseen circumstances cause a trip cancellation, or a dramatic change in itinerary, minimizing the financial impact is, for many, a reassuring essential. Flying on your favorite airline is the easiest way to get to ACA’s domestic programs. Students traveling abroad fly nonstop on ACA-staffed group flights directly from one of New York’s Airports. We are happy to assist with arrangements for students connecting to New York in order to meet the ACA group flight.

ACA provides all students with a travel information packet, and we work with every family to make the most convenient travel arrangements. Check out the information described in each program’s travel section for more details.

The personalized care you receive from ACA staff begins upon your arrival, with ACA staff members greeting you at your program destinations. ACA staff also escort you to connecting flights at designated airports.

Please Note: For your safety and convenience, we require students traveling to our international programs to fly on ACA-staffed group flights.

International Cell Phones

Cell phones are permitted on our programs. On our International Programs, for additional safety and security, ACA provides students who elect to receive an ACA cellphone with international cellphones. Cellphones are free of charge for limited local and all incoming calls. Calls to the U.S. will be billed at international calling rates. All families must provide a credit card for these charges.

The majority of our students bring their regular phone from home with an international plan or they use it only when Wi-Fi is available. Check with your carrier to confirm coverage and rates in your program location.
