ACA 2020 will be a summer we will never forget! Our programs for high school and middle school students in Burlington, Vermont were a great success! ACA worked closely with various local, state and national agencies to formulate a plan to provide students a bit of normalcy at a very unusual time. We would like to thank parents for their incredible support and confidence in our organization, and we want to thank our students for helping to keep all of us safe by following all of the COVID-19 safety guidelines and protocols. We are delighted to share that all students and staff returned home healthy and safe.
ACA was founded 28 years ago, and the cornerstone of our 28 years has been the safety of its students and staff. Our guiding philosophy has been to boost the confidence and comfort of students on the verge of new academic and social challenges. It is our hope that every ACA student returns from our summer programs with a greater understanding of the opportunities ahead and a true appreciation of future friendships and new experiences. With ACA, we’ve found a way to give students a good look at college life, a way to grow and learn, and plenty of time to have an awesome summer experience. We understand that there may be questions and concerns regarding 2021 ACA summer programs during these uncertain times. We will continue to offer information and guidance to our ACA families as the wellbeing, safety, and health of our students and staff is always our number one priority. The cornerstone of our organization for almost 30 years has been safety, and it is our number one priority and concern. We are continuing to closely monitor all updates regarding COVID-19 and are in touch with the World Health Organization and American Camp Association, as well as, following the CDC and US State Department guidelines and updates.
Summer 2021 Safety Features
Please note: All guidelines and protocols regarding safety procedures will be followed based on the guidelines provided by local, state, university, CDC and the American Camp Association at the time you are on the program. The guidelines may be subject to change, and ACA will communicate and update parents and students on any and all guidelines prior and during the program.
Program Locations: All program locations will follow all of the local, state, federal and campus guidelines regarding COVID-19 policies during the time of the program. In addition, we are accredited by the American Camp Association and are also following the best practices, directives, and guidelines provided by American Camp Association. Throughout each program, guidelines may change at which time ACA will communicate and update parents and students on any and all updates or changes during the program.
Medical Facilities: All programs and campuses are steps away from top emergency and medical facilities.
Student and Staff Screening: ACA medical personnel will screen all students and staff upon arrival to the program for symptoms and to review medical history. Students and staff may be required to take a COVID-19 test prior to the program depending on current guidelines. ACA medical personnel will regularly monitor students and staffs temperatures throughout the program. Students or staff with signs of a fever will be removed temporarily from the program population and placed into alternate sleeping rooms and monitored.
Student-to-Staff Ratio: Our student-to-staff ratio is no less than 10:1 which puts ACA at the very safest ratios in the industry.
Staff Orientation and Training: ACA staff will participate in expanded staff orientation, training and procedures, as well as, advanced health and hygiene training with medical professionals. All ACA staff will be educated on best practices regarding all health and safety protocols concerning standard medical issues and regarding COVID-19.
Face Masks: Students and staff may be required to wear a face mask in public areas depending on local public health guidelines.
Transportation: ACA students will only be utilizing private transportation throughout the program solely for ACA students and staff and all guidelines regarding safety procedures (such as masks) will be followed based on the guidelines provided by local, state, university, CDC and the American Camp Association at the time you are on the program.

Students may switch and transfer their tuition to another 2021 ACA Program up until 60 days prior to the program start date.
