ACA offers career exploration options which allow students to explore a career that they may be passionate about before committing to their college major. Not only will the students gain hands on experience, but students will also build relationships with industry professionals and mentors. It is often said that who you know and networking are crucial when job seeking. At ACA we offer four career explorative programs based in Los Angeles that give students hands on experience in film, fashion, medicine, and entrepreneurship.
Project Endeavor Career Exploration & Mentorship Programs
Partnered with the Sidney Poitier New American Film School, the film program will have you step onto the red carpet and participate in lectures with celebrity writers, directors, and actors. You’ll have access to professional level equipment and facilities, as well as sound stages to create collaborative projects. If acting is your area, you’ll explore the fundamentals of the audition process, improv, monologues, and scene work.
The fashion program will take you into a deep dive of history, design, manufacturing, branding, and more! Past guest lecturers include designers for Balenciaga, Cardi B, and Rihanna, the spokesmodel for Dolce & Gabana, and the creative director for Metropolitan Fashion Week. Fashion is so much more than runways and Rodeo Drive, and this program will allow you to explore every facet of the industry.
Lead by World Renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, Dr. Robert Kotler, our medicine endeavor will get you started on your pre-med path. You’ll study the anatomy and physiology of the human body, along with the detailed aspects of modern medical practice. Throughout the program you’ll participate in seminars from prominent medical professionals across numerous of medicine including cardiology, radiology, neurology, dentistry, psychology and mental health, veterinary medicine, and more! You’ll visit start-of-the-art medical and training facilities, and conclude with a seminar on medical school and the application process.
The 21st century is becoming more and more entrepreneurial, and ACA has partnered with Evolve Media to host a program of the very essence of entrepreneurship. Build leadership skills, work with a team, learn to think entrepreneurially while participating in workshops and seminars. You’ll be placed into teams and present the company you’ve created at a functioning boardroom of a Fortune 500 company!
For all programs, weekend adventures include visits to Santa Monica, Venice, and Universal Studios, and a 5 day extension in San Francisco.
Some people spend their summer lounging on the beach, and binging TV shows. Others will hit the books, and get a head start on the new school year. But there’s another road, and certainly one less traveled, so if you’re looking to get some hands-on experience, our Project Endeavor may be for you!
