Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
Last Updated: May 22, 2020
We will update this page as needed.
We understand that there may be questions and concerns regarding your 2020 ACA summer program during these uncertain times. We will continue to offer information and guidance to our ACA families as the wellbeing, safety, and health of our students and staff is ALWAYS our number one priority. The cornerstone of our organization for almost 30 years has been safety, and it is our number one priority and concern. We are closely monitoring all updates regarding the COVID-19 on a daily basis. We are in touch with the World Health Organization and American Camp Association, as well as, following the CDC and US State Department guidelines and updates.
Since our beginning, over 28 years ago, our guiding philosophy has been to boost the confidence and comfort of students on the verge of new academic and social challenges. It is our hope that every ACA student returns from our summer programs with a greater understanding of the opportunities ahead and a true appreciation of future friendships and new experiences. With ACA, we’ve found a way to give students a good look at college life, a way to grow and learn, and plenty of time to have an awesome summer experience. Here at ACA, we believe you will become part of the most well-rounded, personalized pre-college program available anywhere.
Thank you for your steadfast commitment to our organization as we work together to navigate these unusual times. Our team has been working around the clock to find safe options and alternatives to make sure that students and families will still have opportunities to broaden their horizons and benefit from a pre-college/camp experience for summer 2020.
We are excited to announce that we are offering a very special option for summer 2020, our program, ACA Vermont in Burlington. This program offers 2 and 3 week sessions with start dates on or after July 12, 2020 and it offers the very best of sleepaway camp activities located in beautiful Burlington, home to UVM, America’s top college town (Travel + Leisure magazine).
Burlington is a very safe and special community, and Vermont and its leadership have done an incredible job handling COVID-19 and its spread. The program will be staying at The DoubleTree by Hilton adjacent to the University of Vermont campus featuring housekeeping and sanitary protocols to ensure additional cleanliness and safety. The UVM Medical Center is located a few blocks from our residence and is the largest medical center in Vermont. Parents will also be reassured to know that Burlington not only ranked as America’s top college town (Travel + Leisure magazine), but it is also incredibly friendly, down-to-earth and set on the picturesque shores of Lake Champlain.
On May 20th, students will be eligible to switch their current ACA program to the ACA Vermont Program. We will be extending our refund policy until 15 days prior to the commencement of the program to provide peace-of-mind to all families. We also offer an added benefit of trip and travel insurance for anyone who cancels less than 15 days prior to the program or needs to return home during the program.
Lastly, should you wish to change your current program to Summer 2021, we will hold your spot on your desired program for 2021, and the cost of the 2021 program will remain the same as 2020. In addition, your program deposit will remain fully refundable until Feb 1, 2021.
We look forward to working with current families and with all families who have been awaiting updates and information to register for ACA.
Thank you for your patience and your support during these unusual times.
Here at ACA, we wish all of you good HEALTH!!
