Community Service

Spend your summer making a difference. Students have the option to enroll in an Intensive Community Service Program, which allows them to participate in fulfilling service projects during both enrichment offerings, or they can also choose service for just one course period.

“Only a life lived in the service to others is worth living.” ACA’s Service Learning course embodies this Albert Einstein quote, providing rewarding opportunities to spend time helping to make Southern California an even better place for its citizens and visitors.

American Collegiate Adventures is committed to helping students participate in social and personal transformation. Our goal is to encourage them to realize the power they have to grow as individuals while contributing to an environment of cultural understanding and mutual respect. Students will find inspiring ways to use their talents. Morning and afternoon options are available, earning students up to 80 hours of service. Upon completion, every participant receives a certificate highlighting the total number of hours volunteered and projects completed.

ACA prides itself on being a leader in the pre-college summer enrichment industry and is committed to giving our students access to rewarding community service opportunities. We’re convinced, and educators at every level will agree, that these experiences not only improve the well-being of people around the world, they also produce more well-rounded, socially aware students – the kinds of students colleges want to enroll!

Students will find inspiring ways to use their talents by working with children in local schools, raising money for worthwhile charities or volunteering at soup kitchens, organic farms and senior centers. Upon completion, every participant receives a certificate highlighting the total number of hours volunteered and projects completed.

Past ACA Service Partners Include:

School and Community Recreation Programs
Students developed and ran a Wacky Olympics at a local day camp for underprivileged children. Working with the staff, students created a variety of different educational and recreational stations to give the kids an exciting summer afternoon.

Family Centers
Working to revitalize the playground to give local children a clean, safe and fun place to play, students made a significant difference for this nonprofit that works with the area’s vulnerable children and families. In addition to the work on the playground, ACA students also engaged the children in a variety of educational games.

Senior Living Communities
Students participated in a variety of recreational activities, including bingo, dominoes, card games and conversation with residents to help further the mission of helping seniors maintain their dignity and independence.

Food Pantries
Lending their energy in the fight to end hunger, ACA students took charge of organizing and distributing donated food, arranging household sized deliveries that could be better distributed to the area’s deserving families.

Make-A-Wish Foundation & Pediatric Leukemia Fund
Taking initiative and putting their own touch on their service experience, students conducted on-campus bake sales and car washes to raise awareness and funds to support these two important organizations dedicated to improving the lives of terminally ill children.

Support Our Troops
Putting politics aside, ACA students rallied together and involved the local community to support soldiers serving overseas. They collected books, chocolates, phone cards, school memorabilia and other items and then shipped them along with support letters to soldiers from the area serving in Afghanistan.
